Your research library, with AI that never uploads your papers
Search eight academic databases, read and annotate PDFs, and turn any paper into a structured analysis — all on your own machine.
From search to insight
Four things you do every week, in one application.
Find what matters
One search box across arXiv, PubMed, Crossref, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar,
CORE, DBLP and DOAJ. Paste a DOI and get that exact paper. Use field syntax
like ti: and au: when you know what you're after —
or narrow down with facets when you don't.
Read it — and understand it
A built-in PDF reader with highlights and notes that stay exactly where you left them. Full-text translation that keeps the original layout intact. Select any passage to translate it or ask a question, and the answer appears right there — no switching windows, no losing your place.
Turn a paper into a report you can navigate
AI deep reading runs the full text through a Skill and gives you back a structured report — background, method, contributions, limitations, related work — as an interactive document with tabs. Long papers take a few minutes, and you can keep working on something else while it runs.
- Background and positioning within related work
- Method breakdown, step by step
- Contributions, stated and inferred
- Limitations and open questions
- Suggested follow-up reading
Keep a library you can still open in five years
Folders, tags, and full-text search across everything you've collected. PDFs are stored as ordinary files on your disk — not locked inside a database. Back them up, sync them your own way, or open them with any other tool.
Your papers stay on your machine
- Literature, PDFs, annotations and chat history are stored locally and never uploaded.
- API keys live in your operating system's keychain — never in a config file, never in a log.
- The app works fully without an account. Sign in only if you want cloud storage or managed AI quota.
